Tacktick Maxi’s
Get up to speed with TackTick Maxi’s distributed in the UK by Holt
Launched this month and available now from Holt stockists, the most sophisticated instrumentation ever developed by those masters of wireless marine technology, Tacktick.
For owners of racing and cruising yachts, it’s destined to be a big hit. The range boasts many unique features including a start line function that tells racers to speed up or slow as they approach the start line. Imagine what a difference it will make to line starts!
Holt, the UK distributor of Tacktick products, is thrilled with the new Maxi Range. ’This is technology made by sailors for sailors,’ comments Director Ben Dunton. ’The information it generates is so comprehensive yet the system is so user friendly. If you are serious about getting over the finish line before the other guy, you’ve got to have it!’
Highly responsive Line Bias, Wind Shift, Timer functions, indicators for acceleration and speed trends, plus advanced Set, Drift, Turn, and Course to Steer functions – providing exceptional advantages in tidal waters – are among the many features. The displays are capable of receiving and displaying all forms of data wirelessly: from polar data, true wind speed, VMG and compass headings to speed, depth and wind, SOG, COG and navigational data.
As for being user friendly, simple customisation options allow you to show only the data required. Or alternatively, an ‘Auto Leg’ function changes the display to show only information needed for each leg without the need to press buttons.
A display can be quickly fitted to your mast and it automatically networks with other Tacktick instrumentation. It can also be interfaced with other brands in a matter of minutes. With huge 50mm digits, extra wide data titles and red, black and amber background options (to cater to various ambient lighting conditions) the display is also the clearest on the market.
If you are not fortunate enough to have a full Tacktick Wireless system and require mast mounted Maxi Displays with out the hassle of getting cables up the mast the Tacktick Maxis can be interfaces with a wide variety of equipment including Raymarine E and C Series plotters, B & G and Furuno.
Over 80% of instrument failure is due to cabling so the benefits of wireless technology are obvious. And of course you can also forget about metres of heavy cabling and all the difficulties of threading cables through masts, decks, etc.
